Yesterday, it rained... all day.
It was lovely.
This morning, just after the sun came up, I was outside checking on the garden.
We ate the first lettuce Saturday and Sunday. Turns out, the leaves are not so bitter.
The tomatoes and squash are growing well.
I'm looking forward to having these little guys sautéed, roasted, in salads, casseroles...
If you look very closely, there are little green tomatoes in there.
Yesterdays Mother's Day rain was very pleasant.
And the very best part? I got to spend time with my mom.
Happiness to you.

ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking great! The rain was so awesome yesterday. I don't mind the posing, you two look like sisters. :)
ReplyDeleteYour garden is lovely. It is such a sweet treat to eat the vegetables and fruits we grow ourselves. We shall be planting our garden in the next week or two out here in California.
ReplyDeleteHappy Gardening Days Ahead.

How cute you and your mother are! Your garden is so healthy and beautiful. If I lived close by, I'd be trying to steal the tomatoes. I quit planting them, because I got tired of fighting the squirrels for the results of my labor, but there's nothing better tham fresh tomatoes. laurie
